We are Spejbl and Hurvínek, iconic figures in the enchanting world of Czech puppetry. Our story begins with the talented puppeteer Josef Skupa, who envisioned and brought us to life. Spejbl, carved by Karel Nosek in 1920, was the first to step onto the stage. Just six years later, in 1926, I, Hurvínek, the mischievous and chatty son of Spejbl, joined in on the fun!

You might have seen us on the beloved TV series “Večerníček” or “Little Evening Stories,” where our adventures have entertained countless children with our charming and humorous tales. We even have our own theater, dedicated to preserving and sharing our timeless stories and antics with audiences of all ages.

We are honored to be part of what some call the “Czech puppet heaven,” a testament to our cherished place in Czech puppetry tradition. Our playful humor and lovable personalities have captured the hearts of many, and we continue to bring joy and laughter to generations both in the Czech Republic and beyond.
